Bourbon BBQ Burger

- 2 oz. Shiitake Mushroom
- 1 TB Butter
- ¼ T Salt
- 4 Hamburger Buns
- 1 lb Ground Turkey 85/15
- Swiss Cheese
- 2 TB Bourbon
- ¼ Cup Ketchup
- 1 TB Brown Sugar
- ½ T Chili Powder
- 1 TB Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ T Onion Powder
- ¼ T Ground Mustard
- ½ TB Water
Heat large pan over medium.
Add mushrooms and saute for 7 minutes.
Remove mushrooms to a bowl and cover.
Add BBQ sauce ingredients (except for the bourbon), bring to a simmer, and reduce for 10 minutes.
Add mushrooms back to the barbecue sauce, cook for a couple minutes.
Add bourbon and remove pan from the stove (if you have gas) and ignite the alcohol. Woohoo fire! Shake the pan to encourage the alcohol the burn off. You should get some bigger flames every time you do this. Simmer for another 5 to 8 minutes.
Heat grill to medium high.
Unwrap turkey meat from the package and form into burgers.
Sprinkle with salt and then add to the grill. Cook for 6 minutes.
Flip and cook for 3 minutes, then add the cheese. To melt, cook another 3 minutes. Make sure that the turkey is cooked through and no longer pink in the middle.
Remove the burger and add to bun. Cover with the mushroom BBQ sauce.
Serve with chips and fruit!
