Korean Steak with Sauce

posted in: Recipes 0

My Korean steak is a combination of a celebration of a rich, sweet umami flavor. The freshness you get from the cilantro and green onions makes this recipe out-of-this-world good. Call me crazy, but I think that this is my favorite steak recipe, period. I just can’t stop eating it!

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Hanger Steak

Marinade

  • 1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 TB Vegetable oil
  • 2 TB Brown sugar
  • ½ TB Cilantro chopped fine
  • 3 Cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Green onion
  • ½ T Coriander

Sauce

  • 3 TB Soy Sauce
  • 1 ½ TB Vegetable oil
  • 1 TB Brown sugar
  • 2 TB Cilantro chopped fine
  • 2 Cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Green onion
  • ¼ T Ginger fresh grated
  • ½ T Coriander
  • ½ T Sesame oil

Instructions

  • Start with the marinade. I’m horrible about remembering to marinade, but it does add a ton of flavor. Add all marinade ingredients into a zip top bag.
  • Add the steak to the marinade and leave for four hours, or overnight.
  • Heat grill to medium high.
  • Place steak onto the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, or to your preferred doneness. Tent under foil to keep warm. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • While the steak cooks/rests, make the sauce. This is super simple, combine all ingredients into a bowl. Done. No cooking required.
