My Favorite Las Vegas Restaurants

posted in: Travel 0

If you're heading to Sin City, having a good plan for restaurants is essential. I would recommend making reservation to many of the higher end restaurants early in advance, before your trip. I hope this list provides you with a good place to start no matter what your group.

Fine Dining

This Japanese restaurant is a stunning example of elegant design. Located in the Wynn Hotel, the dining space overlooks a private garden and koi pond such is accented by a 90 foot waterfall. The menu includes dishes like angus beef filet and black truffle teriyaki and shrimp and vegetable tempura.

Located on the 23rd floor of the Waldorf Astoria, Twist is a perfect spot for a special evening. The French cuisine is served while you take in views of the city below. The menu features main dishes like John Dory, 14 oz. ribeye and roasted loin of lamb.

Restaurant Guy Savoy
This fine dining option is located in the Augutus Tower of Caesar’s Palace. Considered one of the most romantic places to dine while in Vegas, this Michelin star restaurant offers French fare while overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The menu includes “Snake River Farm” American Wagyu* Rib Cap and Braised Short Rib, Roasted Wild Atlantic Turbot and Muscovy Roasted Duck Breast.

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés
Bazaar Meats is a high end steak house located in the Sahara Casino and Hotel. Headed by Jose Andres, the award winning chef, this option is a great choice on the north end of the strip. The menu includes dishes like beef tartare, Butifarra Catalan-Style Pork Sausage Spiral, flat-iron steak, strip steak and bone-in striploin.

Joel Robuchon
This Michelin Star restaurant is a perfect place for a special night out. It’s located in the MGM Grand Casino and is pure elegance.

Dining with a View

Top of the World
Dine well above the strip in the revolving restaurant located on the 106th floor of Stratosphere Tower. See the city of Las Vegas pass before your eye as you rotate around. The menu features dishes like: rack of lamb, USDA prime porterhouse steak and herb roasted half chicken.

Eiffel Tower Restaurant
Located in the Paris Hotel, the Eiffel Tower Restaurant offers amazing views of the strip. You’ll have amazing views of the Bellagio fountain from this 11th floor restaurant. Menu items include vegetarian California cauliflower “steak”, roast chicken with handrolled pasta, beef wellington and broiled 16 oz. ribeye.

Spago is from acclaimed chef Wolfgang Puck and offers stunning views. Not only are there an upscale indoor dining space, but Spago has one of the best patios for dining in Las Vegas. If you go, you might see the following on the menu: homemade pastas, steamed wild black bass, Veal "Wiener Schnitzel” and baked Alaska for dessert.

The Capital Grille
The Capital Grille is located right across the street from the Wynn casino. The building is wrapped in large glass windows that allow for prime views of the strip. It’s only a few stories high, so if you’re unable to stand being really high up, this is a good option for you. The menu features classic steaks (like filet mignon, NY strip, ribeye) as well as some options from the sea.

Family Dining

Having lived in Chicago for a while, sitting down in Giordano’s with a deep dish pizza is a great night. The biscuit-like dough, the layers of topping and the rich sauce, it all works so well together to create a very satisfying meal. You’ll be able to chose from several toppings, or some of the classics. The restaurant also includes sandwiches and thin crust pizzas.

Bacchanal Buffet
Consistently listed as one of the best buffets in the City, you’ll be treated to a wide range of food options. Located in Caesar’s Palace, this is a great option for dining any time during the day along the strip. The menu offers red velvet pancakes, green applewood smoked wagyu, ramen, udon & pho.

Rainforest café
Ok, so I’m a sucker for this restaurant. Ever since my kids fell in love with the atmosphere of this restaurant, as well as the food, we love to stop in to every Rainforest Café we can. The lush indoor forest transports you to a different world. The sounds of the forest play through out your meal, and you’ll even hear a thunderstorm or two roll in. For food, I loved (loved, loved, loved) the burger. It was huge and amazing. Other options are: fish and chips, stir fry, ribs, pasta and salads.

Fun and Unique

Hell’s Kitchen
My family and I are huge fans of Gordon Ramsay, and love watching Hell’s Kitchen together. What better treat for fans of the show, or just fans of good food, than to stop by Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas. You’ll feel like you’re in the show, while dining on some of the classic recipes, such as beef wellington and scallops.

Le Village Buffet
One of the top buffets in Las Vegas, Le Village is a recreation of a French street. It’s located in the Paris hotel, and it’s a wonderful option for all, especially families. This is way better than a standard buffet as there are live-action cooking stations. The buffet includes options like: prime rib, truffle macaroni and cheese, snow crab legs, homemade Yukon gold mashed potatoes and rotisserie chicken.

Blackout dining in the dark
Have you ever imagined dining in the complete dark. The dining space is pitch black, which allows your other senses to intensify. The pixe fixed menu leads you through several courses. So, if you’re feeling adventurous, give it a try.

Located in the Bellagio, this 2009 michelin star restaurant is a high end treat while visiting Sin City. The restaurant offers views of the fountains in front of the Bellagio, as well as the surrounding area. When available, there’s outdoor dining available, offering spectacular views of the city. For art lovers, there are several Picasso masterpieces located around the dining room.

Gordon Ramsay Steak
Did I mention we’re fans of Chef Ramsay? Located in the Paris Hotel, but you reach the restaurant through the chunnel. Once inside, the dining room is a vibrant London-theme space. You’ll be able to enjoy dishes such as: triple seared Japanese A5 kobe, roasted beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding.

Mermaid lounge
Located in the Silverton Casino, the mermaid lounge offers guest the chance to be served by mermaids and to watch them swim in the gigantic aquarium. Stop by with your families and let you little ones enjoy the experience. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches (like philly cheesesteak and hot Italian sub), chicken tenders, flat breads and fish & chips.
