European Home Rental Adventure #1

posted in: Travel 0

My Euro VRBO Adventure is the answer for large families (or multiple families) who want to see Europe together. One of the things that drive me completely nuts while traveling is paying for a suite because I have a family of five. Booking travel through Europe is especially hard because even some suites only hold 4 people. With this adventure, you’ll find home rentals that offer more space and better views than the standard hotel room. The trip starts in Paris. Here, you’ll be able to live like a Parisian, within the best areas of town. You’ll be close to the sights and restaurants. From here you’ll head to Switzerland. Rent your own chalet in the mountains of Switzerland. Take in mountain views while enjoying the fresh area. The homes here are large and spacious, all of them with wonderful outdoor areas. The final stop takes you to Venice Italy. You’ll be amazed by some of the rental options here. One option is perched along St. Mark’s square with unobstructed views of the Basilica. You can chose an option along a canal and live in a much more spacious option than a Venetian hotel.

While Europe is currently being impacted by COVID, this adventure is a hopeful destination guide for when we start returning to normal (please happen!!!) This vacation is a good way to ease back into traveling because you would have less contact with travelers in a hotel setting, and it allows you to cook within the rental, so if the restaurants are closed (or you're uneasy about dining out), you'll be able to eat in a more stress-free environment. I hope you all enjoy this post, and I hope everyone is staying safe!

This is not a plan that I am selling, but a post to inspire you to explore different vacation options. With that being said, you can take this idea and adjust it to fit your needs, maybe by cutting nights or even destinations. I list the pricing after tax (except on some transport), and the prices are for July. The trip is calculated for a  So let's get started.

For the costs below, I've adjusted the format to accommodate the idea of a larger group size. So, for the transportation, I've listed out how much the train to Venice is per person, but for the car rentals, I've listed the total amount of the rental, about $850 per car. If everyone wants to take the train from Paris to Switzerland, you could probably take off about $900 from the cost of the per family/couple cost (so the Moderate 2 Families overall cost would drop to $7,390, for example.) For the food costs, the number provided is the overall amount of food for the group. Here I tried to find a happy medium for 4 couples vs 2 families, which I set at $300/day for the overall group. By saying a happy medium I mean that the amount is a little light for four couples and might be a little much (or just right for 2 families.)

Itinerary and Activities

Above is an idea of what a possible itinerary would look like for this trip. Everything listed above is included in the price and covers all the activities that I have planned for the trip for eight family members. So, again, if you see activities that don’t interest you, you could save money by skipping.

Thanks for stopping by and reading through my latest travel plan! If there's a region, or a trip, that you would want me to feature, just let me know!
