San Antonio is a lively and energetic City that my dad always loved to visit. The Riverwalk provides a fun atmosphere, but there are so many things to do and see while visiting. In order to fuel up for seeing the sights, you need some great restaurants to head to. I hope this list is a good companion for when you visit this Texas gem.
Dining with a View
Range is located in the Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk. Whether you’re enjoying a new yor strip, ribeye, nightly vegetarian option or on of the homemade pastas, you’ll be treated to views of the river through the floor to ceiling windows.
Biga on the Banks
As the name implies, Biga on the Banks is located right on the Riverwalk. The restaurant offers New American cuisine in an upscale, fine-dining environment. You can try dishes like baked whole branzino, slow roasted beef short ribs or smoked organic chicken. You can chose to go with the prix fixe option for a three course experience.
Located in the Omni La Mansion Del Rio, Las Canarias is a romantic option with views of the Riverwalk. The restaurant is split between three levels offering diners a more unique experience. The menu options include a variety of New American fare.
Boudro’s is a riverfront dining option that serves up a bistro style menu. From wood-fired steaks to table side guacamole, you’re sure to find a great dinner.
Situated in the Tower of the Americas, Chart House offers the best views of San Antonio from 750 feet above. The restaurant offers seafood and steak options (as well as other dishes) and revolves while you dine. The menu includes NY strip, filet mignon, lobster, paneed chicken and ahi tuna.
Bliss is a perfect place for a special evening. Here you will enjoy a more intimate setting while enjoying contemporary cuisine focused on seasonal and local ingredients. The restaurant is located in Southtown (as the name implies, it’s just south of the downtown area), and is one of the best San Antonio has to offer. The menu offers dishes like: lockhart quail, beef tenderloin, BBQ Gulf shrimp and crab and a vegetarian bowl.
Fig Tree Restaurant
A romantic dining destination in the city , Fig Tree is a place to celebrate anything. You’ll be able to chose from dining indoors or outdoors in the villa-style terrace, enjoying the views of the Riverwalk. The menu provides meals like: Braised Short Rib Bourguignon, Free Range Chicken Breast, Diver Sea Scallops, ribeye and rack of lamb.
This popular San Antonio restaurant serves Italian fare in a restored firehouse. The interior has a rustic feel and a nice bar to grab a drink. You’ll be treated to meals like lasagna with pork ragu and eggplant parm.
Bill Miller’s BBQ
If you’re in the mood for BBQ, and you’re on the Riverwalk, stop into Ben Miller. They have a wide variety including ribs, ham, brisket, chicken, turkey and more! This is a great family option as they have a large menu including fried chicken, poor boys and salads. They also serve breakfast!
Bubba Gump Shrimp
Bubba Gump’s is a great family option along the Riverwalk. The kids will love the fishing boat theme. The menu includes options like po boys, coconut shrimp, burgers, ribs, ribeye, fish and chips, fried chicken and chicken tenders.
The Rainforest Café is a fun and entertaining environment for the whole family. The menu offers pastas, seafood, chicken and salads.
