Peach tea is a refreshing summer drink that we love. I make the simple syrup out of peach skins that have been removed for ice cream or canning, and it gives a ton of flavor to the drink. Making peach tea in Ohio is a common thing. Place some tea bags in water on the back patio, wait a few hours, and you have tea! Mixing the tea and peach together is a perfect beverage to combat the heat.
- Skins of 10 peaches after canning or making ice cream, etc.
- 3 Cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 quart Water
- 3-4 Lipton tea bags
- Place peels in a pot with sugar and water. Heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes. Allow to cool, then strain into a container. Place in the fridge to cool, while you wait for the tea.
- Put ice tea packets in a glass container with a quart of water. Let sit in the sun for 4-6 hours during a hot day. You can always do this step the day before to make sure the tea is cold.
- In a tall glass with ice, pour equal parts peach syrup and tea over the ice. Enjoy!
