Lush green mountains surround the beautiful clear waters of Crater Lake. Sunlight sparkles off the gently rippling water as you slowly drift along the surface. Your hand hangs over the edge of the boat, allowing your fingers to cut through the cool water. Distant birds chirp, creating a break in the silence. Your trip to the Crater Lake Lodge is one of the most peaceful experiences you'll ever enjoy. This national park hotel is a special place full of life, activity and remarkable views. Just a 2 hour drive from Bend, or a 4 ½ hour drive from Portland, the Lodge is a getaway from normal.
At Crater Lake Lodge, you can chose between three room options (prices were for June): a standard room ($234), a deluxe lake view ($260), or a loft room ($330).
For meals, the on-site restaurant provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here you'll enjoy spectacular views over the lake while experiencing the regional cuisine. The menu is a combination of everything: beef, seafood, chicken and vegetarian. The kids menu includes meals like a cheeseburger, grilled cheese and seared salmon.
There are several activities around the hotel. If you’re in the mood for a cruise, the “Standard Tour” lasts for about 2 hours and sails around the lake’s perimeter. You’ll have to walk to the boat dock to participate, which is a 1.1 mile hike that includes a 700 ft. elevation change. For hikers, there are several trails that you can explore ranging from easy to difficult. If you’re interested in seeing the full lake, try the 33 mile bike trial, which spans the perimeter of the lake.
I hope you enjoyed this hotel highlight! If you do end up going, please let them know that I sent you, and don't forget to subscribe!
