Honey Glazed Ham

- 1/3 Cup Honey
- 10 lb. Bone-in Ham Shank
- 1 TB Brown Sugar
- 1 TB White Sugar
- 1 TB Honey
- 1 TB Water
- ½ T Cinnamon
- ¼ T Ground Ginger
- ¼ T Chili Powder
- ½ T Onion Powder
Preheat oven to 300°.
Unwrap ham from package, rinse and then completely pat dry.
Place ham with the cut side facing down on a high-rimmed baking sheet.
Take quarter cup of honey and, with a brush, spread the honey over the ham.
Place in the oven for an hour and a half.
Mix remaining honey and spices sugar in a small bowl.
Pull ham out of the oven, brush on the honey spice mixture and then put back into the oven.
Over the next hour, brush the ham with the honey spice glaze every 15 minutes.
After the last glazing, turn broiler on and try to crust the glaze slightly. You’re looking to caramelized the honey and spices, and not burn them. You want to get a little bit of bubbling, nothing more. About 5 – 10 minutes.
Remove ham from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
Slice and serve with you sides of choice (for me it’s green bean casserole or Brussel sprouts for veg, and roasted potatoes.)
