I love the smell and taste of chilpolte. Regardless of what the meal, if I smell chilpolte, I think BBQ sauce. This one has a little kick, but the sweetness of the Coke mellows it out.
6 oz. Coke
½ cup ketchup
1 teaspoon chilpolte
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
First, take the canned chipotle and put into a blender. Puree until it’s smooth. Then, add all the ingredients to a small sauce pot and simmer until it reduces by half (about 30 minutes), creating a thick sauce.
Drizzle over your favorite BBQ and enjoy!!
