My Homemade Hummus

There’s a hummus I get here in Columbus that I absolutely love. It’s a little thinner than the hummus you get from the store, and it uses a little lemon to add freshness. I think that I got really close with this recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

My Homemade Hummus

Ingredients

  • 15 oz. Chickpeas
  • 5 cloves Garlic roasted
  • 3 Tablespoons Tahini paste
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon Grape seed oil
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • I think that the most important part of making hummus is to remove the outer skin of the chick pea. It's easy to do, you just squeeze the chick pea between your fingers and the skin pops off. It's a little time consuming, and you don't have to do it, but the hummus will be very smooth if you do.
  • After that, add all ingredients to a blender and let it whirl. Serve with pretzel chips or pita. Enjoy!
